Next Tuesday is Piper's heart surgery! We are hoping that the surgery actually happens this time. It has been canceled twice because there was not enough room in the cardiac intensive care unit. There have been lots of emergency heart surgeries this spring and summer at A.I. Dupont Children's Hospital. Even though it was frustrating that the two surgeries were canceled, we understood that there were children with more serious needs at that time!
We are hoping and praying that Dr. Pizarro can make Piper's heart have two working ventricles. The best case senario is to close her VSD (hole between her two ventricles) and move her aorta to one side and move her pulmonary vein to the other side. Thus, giving her two working ventricles! If that is not possible, she will have what they call a simple fontan procedure.
We were told to plan on being in the hospital for seven to ten days after her heart surgery!

Harford County Farm Fair!
We went to the Farm Fair on Saturday with my parents! The children really love playing the games and petting the animals. The pig races were fun to watch too! It was very HOT! We still managed to have a wonderful time! Plus, we went to dinner at Bertucci's after the fair with my parents! We can't wait to go next year with all seven of our children!
