We certainly had a busy weekend! We had to prepare for the big Hurricane Sandy that is suppose to hit very close to our house! We woke up Saturday morning and headed to the store. It was not nearly as crowded as we expected! We are stocked up for the next few days just in case our power goes out!
We spent the afternoon with the Granzow Family at Dutch Wonderland. I remembered the camera, but forgot the memory card! UGH! I missed getting picture of our five trick or treaters and little Miss Evelyn! We had a great time! We are so glad that they moved to PA and are much closer to us! We can't wait to do lots of things together with the children!!!!
Today I took Sophia to a birthday party at the movie theater. We saw Hotel Transylvania! It was cute! There was a lot of adult humor in it that Sophia didn't really understand. I think she liked it, but at the end she kept asking if it was over yet. Erik took the other four to Target to pick up a few things we forgot to get yesterday!
Now, everyone is tucked into their sleeping bags in our room! We told the children that if the hurricane was going to be close to us that we could have a family sleepover. I usually do a family sleepover when Erik goes away on a business trip. Oliver is the only one sleeping in his room! So, we will all brave the next two days together! School has already been canceled for Monday and Tuesday. The local high school is designated as one of the hurricane relief shelters! Let's hope we don't lose power or that if we do it won't be out for a long time!!

Sophia's Fall Harvest Party!
Friday was Sophia's party at school! I am one of the room mothers for Sophia's class along with Ben's Mom! I love being able to spend time in Sophia's classroom. It makes me miss teaching a little bit, but I am so thankful to be able to be a stay at home mom for now! We planned lots of fun activities for the children. We decorated a pumpkin, ate a special snack, played bingo, read Halloween books, marble painted a spider web and made a spider for the web, and played pin the eye on the monster and a few other Halloween games! I enjoyed getting to know Sophia's friends in her classroom!
The children were suppose to dress up for the theme "Out of this World". They were suppose to dress from outerspace or from another country. I had Sophia wear her China doll skirt. Erik told me to just send her in her Batgirl costume, but I insisted that we had to follow the rules. Well, come to find out, no one followed the theme. Everyone just wore their Halloween costume! Erik thinks I am too much of a rule follower!!! I did bring Sophia's batgirl costume and she wore it for the school wide parade at the end of the day!

McDonald's Night!!
This past Thursday was McDonald's night for Graham's school. We all headed out to McDonald's for dinner. Mrs. Millard and Mrs. Bunjo were there from 4:30 to 5:30! We had to rush to get there before they left. We made it just in time to see both of Graham's teachers! Sophia was excited to see her old teachers too! Graham was so excited he could hardly wait to get there! It was a successful fundraiser for the Avon Grove Nazarene Academy!

Halloween Party at Chick-fil-A!
Tonight I took the children to Chick-fil-A for dinner. They were having a Halloween party tonight. They had games and pumpkin painting for the children! The children loved it! We got there around 5:15 PM. Erik met us at 6:30 PM to have dinner with us! The children each got a free meal with an adult meal, so that was a nice treat for us!! It was such a fun night!!!
P.S. Oliver didn't want to wear his Mickey Mouse costume tonight!

New Pictures of Zoe Caroline!
We received new pictures of Zoe last week along with an update! She sounds like she is doing great! She is a little peanut like her sister Piper. She only weighs sixteen pounds at 25 months old. We can't wait to meet her and hold her in our arms forever! It looks like we will be traveling in December to bring the girls home! We had a little glitch in our paperwork for Harper so her I-800 approval couldn't be issued without additional information. This sets us back two weeks because the additional paperwork has to sit in the lockbox in Texas for two weeks before it gets sent to our USCIS (immigration) officer! So, we should have our approvals from USCIS by next Friday. Then, everything will be sent to China and we have to wait yet again for our travel approval!
Gymnastics!
Sophia, Graham, and Parker have gymnastics on Saturday morning. This weekend was our first class. We missed the first few classes because we had other things to do! Sophia was very nervous, but she did it! We were so proud of her! It helps to have her brothers in the class with her!! Parker didn't do gymnastics today because he was too tired! Someone wouldn't go to bed on Friday night and was up way past his bedtime!!! Enjoy the pictures!!
Halloween Cookies!
We made Halloween cookies this Thursday after school! All of the children love to help me bake! We had a lot of fun mixing the ingredients, rolling out the cookies, and watching them bake. We decorated them after dinner so Daddy could help too! Piper did help too, but she took off all of her clothes, so I didn't post pictures of her helping to make cookies! Sophia said this was the best day ever!!
