Zoe's Genetic Testing Results!

So, we finally got Zoe's genetic testing results back for meier-gorlin syndrome.  There was one change found in the ORC1 gene that is  classified as a “variant”, so she doesn't have meier-gorlin syndrome.  There needed to be two mutations in order for her to have it.  They still think she has a form of primordial dwarfism.  Dr. Bober's office is now sending her DNA to Scotland.  Dr. Jackson met Zoe last summer at Dupont.  He also thought she had meier-gorlin syndrome.  Zoe will now become part of his research study to see if he can find any mutations in her genes that is causing her short stature.  We have no idea how long this will take.  The mutation could be found immediately or it could take months or even years!  Zoe sure is our little mystery, but we wouldn't have her any other way.  Unfortunately, because she was adopted we don't have any birth history on Zoe.  Angie at Dupont told me that her primordial dwarfism is most likely caused by a recessive gene in both her China Mommy and China Daddy!!

Happy 6th Birthday Parker!

March 29th was Parker's 6th birthday!!

How can my little man already be six?  Parker approaches everything he does with such energy!  He puts his whole heart into everything!  Parker's smile melts my heart every time I see it!  It was the first thing I noticed when I saw his face for the first time!  Parker is my little love bug!  He needs me to give him a hug, kiss, tickle, and three more big hugs before school each day!  I will gladly give him a thousand hugs and kisses because I know one day he won't want me to hug and kiss him every day before school!  Parker was so excited about his birthday!  We have been counting down the days for what seems like months!  He is such a great kid!  He is the life of the party!  Everyone who meets him falls in love with him!  He really is that special!  We love you P-Man and we hope you had the best birthday ever!!

Happy 5th Birthday Piper!

It is hard for me to believe that our Piper is five already!   It seems like just yesterday we met this sick little princess in China!  Piper had grown so much in the two and a half years she has been with us!  Piper is finally starting to talk a little more!  It is still difficult to have a conversation with her, but she is making progress!  We are so proud of how far she has come!  Tonight she was singing "Let It Go" from the movie "Frozen" as loud as she could!  She loves playing in the play kitchen with Zoe and Oliver!  She is such a great big sister to Zoe and Oliver!  She cracks me up when she is telling Zoe to leave her alone and stop being so bossy!  Piper can be so dramatic!!!  We can't wait to see what this next year has in store for our little princess!  We love you so much Pippity Pipes!!
