Fall Walk
Today we took a fall walk. We looked all around our neighborhood to find signs of fall. We found leaves, seeds, branches, grass, and lots of other things too. Sophia and Graham were excited to see a big hole in a tree. They were disappointed to not see the squirrel that lived in the tree!! We had such a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful weather this afternoon!

Oliver!
We received good news today about Oliver! The doctor told me that Oliver does not have galactosemia! He does not have any of the symptoms of galactosemia, some of which include: cataracts, jaundice, enlarged liver, vomiting, and being lethargic. He said the worst case scenario would be that Oliver is a carrier of the mutated gene. But, most likely, Oliver's galactose enzyme is within the normal limits! That was a huge relief to us! Oliver had to give blood to confirm what the doctor told us. We should have the results in two to three weeks!!! We are so thankful that our little man is okay!! We sure do love our Oliver (or Smalliver as Erik calls him)!!! Thanks for all the prayers for Oliver!!!!

Family Update!
I know I haven't posted in awhile, but we have been busy with school and doctors appointments. Here is the update on each of our little ones:
Sophia~ She loves kindergarten! She still hasn't said anything in school because of her selective mustism, but she did say good-bye to her teacher today! That is a huge accomplishment for Sophia! We are so proud of her!
Graham~ He still loves his cars and is obsessed with Cars 2! He is doing well in pre kindergarten! He is still working on writing his name! He has his CT scan and blood draw on Thursday to check to be sure his cancer has stayed away! His blood work result from September was great! His AFP level was 2.8 and our goal is to keep it under 8!
Parker~ He will be having his palate surgery the first Friday in November. Dr. Napoli is fixing the hole that was not correctly closed when he had his surgery in China. We hope this will help his speech. Currently, he can only make five sounds correctly which makes it very difficult to understand what he is saying. We can't wait to be able to understand what he is telling us!!!!
Piper~ We are starting to see our happy Piper again! We see so many more smiles now! We are working hard to help her with the swallowing issue. We go to feeding therapy each Wednesday. We also go for weekly weight checks at the pediatrician's office. Piper weighed 17 pounds and 10 ounces when she came home in June. As of last Friday, she now weighs 19 pounds and 1 ounce! Our goal is to gain 7 ounces each week. We are hoping we won't have to put in a feeding tube! We go back to see the cardiologist next Thursday!
Oliver~ We are heading to see the genetics doctor at the hospital tomorrow because Oliver's newborn screening test came back with an area of concern. His galactose enzyme is low. We had to do four newborn screenings because each one was coming back with a different result. The only consistent one was the galactose enzyme. However, the low galactose enzyme did not show up on the first screening. We hope to get answers tomorrow regarding galactosemia.
Mommy and Daddy are doing great! My blood pressure is now back to normal and we are getting use to our new routine. We are getting pretty good at getting five children up, fed, and out the door each morning during the week. Sophia and Graham have gymnastics together on Saturday mornings and Parker has karate on Saturday mornings. Parker calls is rotie!
